Haha I guess your not recommending it. Does the Will Smith movie count? If ever there was someone to lead a big budget Marvel or DC movie it was Will.

Personally, I think this property could be a big hit if they handle the material right, and since Marvel is the one holding the reins, I can't wait to see the Panther, Klaw, and Wakanda!

I won't be surprised when BP is shown to have better tech and sophistication than Bruce or Tony.

Marvel Wants To Work With SELMA’s Ava DuVernay | Birth.Movies.Death.
Selma was great and powerful, Ava Duvernay would be a solid choice for this movie.

I don't get this. Get a black director just because it's a black character?

No, because she is a great director who is also black. She could very well be attached to Captain Marvel or Inhumans too.

There is something to be said for the inherent credibility of the person telling the story sharing a common trait or tie to the characters they are dealing with. Part of why I applaud the search for female directors for projects like Wonder Woman. I feel there is something more natural about a female capturing and presenting the nuances of the female condition than a male guessing at what it is and showcasing it with his filter.

Having said that in this case BP is African versus a black American and not a female. Additionally his is not typically a story about the experience of a black person in America so I totally get where you are coming from with your question as it relates to this director on this project Moon Knight. If my theory holds any salt then I guess I would champion her for Captain Marvel or Power Man.
