I wonder if this statue is still happening since Scarlett Johansson is suing Disney. I guess we'll find out?

They last said they were waiting from approval from marvel, I hope this doesn't put a spanner in the works but I fear it will

She’s suing for breach of contract, so I doubt that it’ll prevent the statue from being made. It might slow down the approval process, but money is money. Both Disney and the actor will get paid for their share (whatever that split ends up being) of these statues.

I would guess the arm of Disney that approves such things has no involvement with the side that deals with contract disputes. Then again, large companies can pull what they like, when they like. It could mean the end of all things SJ + Black Widow

I think she is finished with the character for good now, whether her decision or Disney, she's not coming back

Obviously I don't know about the licensing issues but I'm not holding my breath for this piece any more

IIRC Carl Icahn has a reputation for being petty and vindictive.

He basically kneecapped the Fantastic Four in the comic universe for several years- which spilled over into licensing- because of some dispute with Fox over the property.
The point of doing that was to starve an upcoming Fox FF production of synergistic energy- no opportunity for cross promotion, no increased brand awareness in other media, etc.

I have no clue if this will affect in production BW product, but it easily could when things have to go through an approval process.

OTOH, if the product has already been approved, Marvel is out of the picture. Unless Queen also has to wait in the queue for approval on subsequent things like box art.
There are numerous ways to tie stuff like this up, simply to get back at uppity talent.

I feel the same way about the 1:2 WW84 in Gold Armour Queen teased a while back. After the film flopped, and - to a degree - the success of the JND piece, my guess is we'll never see that piece produced either.

Yeah I would have liked to see some 1:2 scale DC pieces from queen, that's the prefect scale for them to showcase their work

They seem a little all over the place with their scales but I guess if they have the licence, might as well use it!

A post on their Youtube channel said this will be previewed in August. I hope this is true. Since today is the 1st, this should be coming soon.
