3D Printing vs Casting

Is there a reason Chinese factories cast pieces rather than print each piece off?

I'd had thought printing each piece would result in perfect results, unlike casting which can result in details being lost, texture on clothing being a good example.

Or it is a strength issue? ..as Sideshow have mentioned how cast pieces are stronger than prototypes.

The reason i mentioned this, i stumbled across someone son ebay selling the printed components to construct and paint a statue.
