Yeah, the fact that its real liquid really does make them just that much more amazing. I emailed AurumLights and asked about the prints. supposedly, the 2nd set should be coming out soon.

I found a very cool video on Vimeo that shows the process that he uses for these pictures. He actually uses cold milk (he used colored dye in the milk for the colored pictures) for all of the shots. Cold milk reacts differently when splashed than warm or room temperature milk. So the models are having cold milk thrown on them, which as you will see isn't very comfortable. He literally will take up to a thousand different pictures and he then pieces together the best ones in a processing/layering program. A ton of work goes into these pictures. Anyways, if you have any interest in these pictures, you should watch the video. Its really cool.

Yeah, it really is a brilliant technique. I am not a fan of digital photography at all, but these are just incredible. Then again, the blending of the different splashes is really the only pure digital aspect of these pictures. One could just as easily use film to shoot the splash pictures, scan in the negatives, and then use Photoshop to blend the splashes.

Either way, this is without question one of the most creative uses of digital photography I have seen to date and the end result is just incredibly beautiful.

Still no 2nd series for the prints. I am beginning tow think the first set of 4 didn't sell well and as such, they may have scratched the plan to release the remaining shots as prints. That would be a real shame as I was really hoping to get the entire series in print form. Gonna have to send another email and see what the deal is.

Buy it fast if you want one as the last one sold out ridicuously fast. I know I am buying one! Honestly, its one of the most beautiful photography techniques I have ever seen. Just so dynamic!!
