2014 Amazing Arizona Con

i will be the first to admit, the 2013 con was kinda messy. i came away happy but it was poorly run. over the course of a few months i was refunded the monies that were due and eventually got my Stan Lee CGC book back. today, lo and behold. i received a box from Amazing Arizona Con. in that box was a signed Stan Lee book, the one pictured, and a short card explaining the gift. also listed were the dates and a few guests for the 2014 con. didnt realize its only 2 months away. really stoked about the headliner.

2014 Amazing Arizona Comic Con
January 24-26
Phoenix Convention Center

guests:
Robert Kirkman (woohoo!!!)
Geoff Johns
Marc Silvestri

really pumped about Kirkman. gotta put some thought into what ill have signed and if i can get some sort of treatment ready and into his hands. some of you may remember my attempt to pass along some of the first Invincible screenplay i wrote at Morrissoncon last year. didnt go quite as i planned. need original material.

i have to say, the free signed Lee book really was considerate and they will definitely get my business again this year, although, unless theres a Kirkman VIP package, ill pass on all that extra stuff.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

i was really disappointed with the last show. not really sure what i'd get signed by any of the guests. i guess i COULD get my Thief of Thieves #1 signed by kirkman if it gets regraded. ::shrugs::

dude. im trying not to get too excited about this. im sure there will be a Kirkman VIP package. ill go for that, even though, in total agreement with you, i was also disappointed with this years deal. Kirkman just happens to be my favorite writer. im sure Desert Wide will be handling the CGC aspect of the con, that sucks. took close to 6 months to get my slab back from them from this years AA. they do a show every week of the year and take submissions at each of those cons. they totally have their hands full. i havent decided what to get signed by Kirkman this year. was thinking about taking my Englert "this is my farm" print and having as many actors sign it as i can. Kirkman would be key on that print.

there was a Silvestri cover for Invincible #100, that might get double signed and slabbed for me.

Saw Liefeld has been added to the list. Man, I'm tempted to crack one of my slabs for a signature.

Cross country skiing is great if you live in a small country.

Brandon Peterson is the only reason I'd go, and I can't, since I have to save for my birthday trip two weeks later. It's bumming me out too.

Hopefully, he will come back for the Phoenix con in June.

For those of you going, saw that an actual CGC booth will be there. That's a big plus, Desert Wind Comics simply doesn't have their sh!t together.
