So... why isn't Arkhalla selling?

So, I was looking at the Tarzan today on the ARH site and I noticed that Arkhalla Seduction is still available for preorder.

So... why?

The statue is a great sculpt and has a fantastic paint scheme. Is it because its too graphic with the sculpted vagina? Is it because its 1/3 scale? is it because the character is just not that popular? or is the price point too high?

I preordered it, but I was hesitant because it was 1/3 scale... all my other pieces are 1/4. Plus, its price point was a little high. In the end I did decide to get it because I was a fan of the statue and wanted to support future statues projects that might include full nudity.

I'm curious to know why other people did or did not order this... or why they are waiting.

For me, I'm just not into that character. Plus, Running out of space as it is. So everything I get needs to be something I really want. Or I need to start selling... Which I do not want to do.

Because their awesome web guy forgot to update her page to "Sold Out"?

In all seriousness, I think I recall Ehren saying this Arkhalla and the snake body Medusa were the hits of their show at last year's NYCC. So it is a bit surprising.

If she isn't actually sold out, I wouldn't blame the price point. $600 is more than reasonable for a 1:3 scale statue compared to other companies out there. Visit some other sections of the forum and you'll see they can go for hundreds more in some cases.

If anything, it could be that this Arkhalla is not exactly "family friendly". She's got "sexy time" dialed up to 11 and that may be too much for some collectors.

I personally ordered her day one. I think it's some of Ehren's finest work.

To put it into perspective, Sideshow is asking $600 for this 1:4 scale statue which is essentially a glorified skeleton.

I think it's catering to a very small segment who wants:

1) Demonic
2) 1/3rd Scale
3) Nudity

I think if it was 1/4 scale it would of done better, but that's just my opinion....

I think you're right about the scale. If it was 1/4 I would have ordered here so much faster with zero hesitation, even if the price was the same. I think though, that if it was 1/4 scale, it would have been super small looking because of her crouched down pose. That was probably what made the decision to go 1/3.

Unless you're one of those collectors that needs to have everything in the same scale, I can't really see the scale being an issue with potential buyers on this one.

In terms of height, she's smaller than many of ARH's recent 1:4 scales and just 5 inches taller than their 1:5 Virgin of Mahar piece.

That's me... All my stuff is 1/4 scale. It's killing me to have this in different scale. I figured I'd just keep this piece far away from my other ones so the scale difference doesn't bother me. I just felt like I needed to support this piece so they would make more like it.

That's some serious OCD.

You'd probably curl up in the fetal position if you saw my collection.

If you want it, you should order it. ARH is a solid company that really does have an excellent rep. I have 4 of their statues and have 5 more on pre-order. I have had no issues that were not resolved to my total satisfaction.
