Minus Peter, I keep comparing MJ and the chair to Alice and her base since they are posed similarly. Alice has more overall details (dress and base sculpt; paint details for the base)...MJ is on a big chair, not as detailed as Alice’s base, but maybe more physical material? I guess overall they even out. Alice is $400, 1.5” taller. Adding Peter to MJ, trying to see if the price makes more sense from that perspective. $125 more.

Isn’t Alice in Wonderland in the public domain whereas with Spiderman, SSC has to pay Marvel for the license?
Just playing devil’s advocate. I agree that it probably shouldn’t be $125 more.
But after collecting for so many years, the rising prices are just part of the hobby. I’m not happy with it but I just roll with it.

The license costs must be expensive based on the price difference between licensed PFs and Court of the Dead PFs.

Too expensive. First ever JSC ssc statue pass. Should had been $400 max for a 12.5” statue.

Damn I’ve been staying out of the Sideshow threads recently so I just noticed it when it appeared on Sideshow’s website.
Now that is much improved over how it originally looked.
If I ever see this discounted in the future I think I’ll definitely be adding this to my collection.

Probably not going to get this but IMO it is sweet looking. I like the stuffed tiger. Obviously a reference to that great page “Face it tiger! You’ve hit the jackpot!”. Nice little Easter egg.

Yup. All that.
From what I learned in college lol there’s the total cost of a project...like research and development, labor hours, materials, any flat rates paid for whatever is needed, workers paid, etc... which will help you figure out the cost of breaking even if X amount are sold at X dollars... I’m sure sideshow has some sort of projections for this since they don’t know for sure how many of something they’ll be making... but then there’s profit margin, how much over you charge for an item to not just make your money back on the product, but to actually make a profit. In any case, there’s some money splitting to be done on a project like this.
