The 2009 specials have a series of "one off" companions, like the Christmas episodes. Michelle Ryan in the Easter story, Lindsey Duncan for the next story.

No news of the companion for the Tenth Doctor's final story (a two parter), but there is this SPOILER PHOTO!!!.

Please don't openly comment on the photo if you chose to look at it.

EDIT - Link now dead.

Gonna have to check that one out. Can't go wrong with a bit of extra Tennant Who before he steps down...

I agree, what with the Beeb spreading the specials out rather oddly during the year - April, then it would seem one in November and two in December. I would have thought that spreading them out more evently would be sensible, but I don't work in media, so what would I know.

News from OG about the airing of the 2009 episodes

Quote:
In a turnabout from a previous arrangement, BBC America now has first US broadcast rights for the soon-to-be-aired hour-long specials of Doctor Who, Variety reported today.

The Next Doctor, the show's 2008 Christmas episode, will make its US debut at 9:00 p.m. on June 27, followed by Planet of the Dead in July (date TBA). Specific US air dates will be determined for the subsequent specials after they've aired in the UK.

BBC America - which has to bid for British shows just like any other American broadcaster - will continue its first run deal on Torchwood, airing that show's third season in July.

How has the new eps of Torchwood been so far? Anyone been watching it? I have the first 4 eps but I'm waiting until the final ep until I check it out myself..

Considering I was debating whether I would even bother to watch it, given that seasons 1 and 2 were pretty dreadful IMO, it has surprisingly been quite good.
