it is actually a tough choice for me looking at those pics. they both look awesome. I am sure the difference in price will make the decision easier.

obviously I mean if the accurate version was available at the same time. who would choose a less accurate version? especially when the accurate version looks cooler as well. I guess price will be the only factore like Ambassh says.

nothing offical yet. the word on the street is the rough version will be more limited and cost more. there is also talk of a super limited signature version.

Who would be the signature? James Earl Jones?
Personally, and after viewing the images provided by Gino, I'm leaning toward the idealized version. Primarily due to the fact that I don't see a factory in China reproducing Gino's fantastic paint applications, so a spray application will save me from nitpicking the thing apart. This is all of course only if I can afford to have two helmets in my collection. The McVader may have to suffice, and I do like it more anyway. Can't wait for that thing to ship.

Many will choose the idealised version over the more accurate regardless of them being released simultaneously. There will be those who don't share your view regarding the latter being "cooler" and will dislike the rough finish despite it being the more accurate of the two.
I don't believe pricing would dissuade those who want the accurate helmet. Many will not even consider the idealised offering as a viable option.
Once again it's nothing more than a matter of taste and preference.

Bryan of eFX confirmed this at SDCC -
There will be two versions of this piece. One version will be screen accurate while the other will be very clean and shiny. Both versions will share the same price point and edition size.

I just don't see how they can offer them both for the same price. But I am respecting eFX more and more with their solid adherence to quality. I hope my McVader does not disappoint.
Question - What should I use to dust my helmet? I can see it's going to be a dust magnet and nightmare. Every non-professional photo of the McVader has shown massive amount of dust coating it already. And I live in Vegas, so I really want to know what is recommended to keep him looking awesome.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

The best way is to keep in in a display case or a cabinet with glass doors.
