I believe his cancer was actually very easily treatable. Not that all cancers are not serious, just his had a high probability of survival - say 95+%. Mine was at 1%.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Biiicycle.. biiicycle.
I forget which race it was, but he stayed at a local Best Western I worked at for a while when I first moved back down here (mid-2011), and he made demands on the front desk (day and night) like nobody's business.
He travels under a pseudonym, but he's not fooling anyone.

In his autobiography (and we can't trust a word he says now) he said the Dr told him he had 50% chance ofsurvival, but after he recovered, admitted that he had thought it was more like 20%. And his mother was told to expect the worst. He says anyway.
He also says in his book he was quite arrogant. Theres one anecdote that he annoyed someone so much in a race with his antics and chatter that they deliberately braked before the line and gave up a podium finish, as they didnt want to stand on the same podium as him, an elegant rebuke.
I havent seen the whole interview, but there are stories on the net that he was still lying in the oprah interview, saying the last time he doped was 2005, as it would be outside the statue of limitations for criminal prosecution.

I didn't study him but my recollection was that 1 or 2 rounds of chemo cured him.

I meant his nut.
You know I mean no disrespect, Bill.. and no, I didn't know that was any sort of chemo therapy. I apologize.
Edit: I'm out.. Lance is a d!ck, but nobody should have to suffer through cancer. Not even him... but yeah, I'm serious.. he's a d!ck. Every establishment he ate at/stayed at in Paso Robles that trip said as much, including ours.
