I love Elmore Leonard books and have read most of them. You probably already know but a bunch of his books have been made into movies including:

Out of Sight
Get Shorty
Jackie Brown (from E Leonard book "Rum Punch")
Mr. Majestyk
Hombre
52 Pickup
Valdez is Coming
Kill Shot

That new F/X series "Justified" is also based on a Leonard character (Raylen Givens) in short stories and a novel he wrote.

Like most things the books are better than the movies. I would recommend reading books that haven't been made into movies because then you get the benefit of his style without the foreknowledge of what is going to happen.

Just finished 'About The Author' by John Colapinto. A very well written and highly enjoyable thriller with a great premise. Definately worth checking out if you enjoy thrillers, Hitchcock's work or just well written novels.

Just dropped major coin on Bill Waren's updated Keep Watching the Skies, an alpha-list of every sci-fi & fantastic film from 1949 - 1952. Full page insights & descriptions, along w/ hundreds of b&w photos included. I'm a huge fan and watcher of the b&w sci-fi genre', but had no idea just how much I've missed. I know I'll be pulling this tome for decades to come.

Related note - The mummified (they figure she's been at least a month dead in her still-on, portable heater apartment) of 50's B sci-fi movies starlette, Yvette Vickers was found April 27th by a neighbor. She starred in Atack of the 50 Foot Woman, Attack of the Giant Leaches, and more. Thanks for the great "bad" movies Ms. Vickers.

Decided to begin the arduous task of reading the Expanded Universe of Star Wars. Just finished reading the Thrawn trilogy by Zahn. Next up is I, Jedi.

Getting around to reading the Harry Potter series (my son told me the movies leave so much out). I'm afraid it will be a case of the movies ruining the books for me though since I know what will happen.
