"I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free."

What ever I could say isn't enough. Their sacrifice and service is appreciated and honored.

Special thanks to all my friends and family who've served and are serving, some of whom never came back.. all of whom will always be remembered.

Special thanks to anyone who's served, and is serving.. you guys make something as trivial as Statue Forum possible.

Thank you and God Bless.

I was that which others did not want to be.
I went where others feared to go, and did what others failed to do.
I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness ... should I fail.
I have seen the face of terror; felt the stinging cold of fear; and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moment's love.
I have cried, pained, and hoped ... but most of all, I have lived times others would say were best forgotten.
At least someday I will be able to say that I was proud of what I was ... a soldier.

The Filipino people will always be grateful to General Douglas McArthur and the American liberating forces during WWII.

"People of the Philippines, I have returned..
I have returned. By the grace of Almighty God our forces stand again on Philippine soil -- soil consecrated in the blood of our two peoples. We have come, dedicated and committed, to the task of destroying every vestige of enemy control over your daily lives, and of restoring, upon a foundation of indestructible, strength, the liberties of your people. - Gen. Douglas McArthur, October 20, 1944
