As much as I enjoy Rebels I'm not really attached to any of the original characters unfortunately. I'd love to see it run one more season and then move onto the gap between ROTJ & TFA as you mentioned with a new cast of characters.

I would be surprised if the next animated series covers post-Jedi. Right now most of the books are addressing that timeframe. It's a 30-year period and a large galaxy, so they could do it, but if they do, it will have to steer clear of the main heroes like Rebels does.

Oh boy! That looks amazing on so many levels. The final scene probably has me excited the most. Fight!!

Yup! Did you ever read the DH Comics story about how Maul met his end on Tatooine? I was kind of thinking that it might play out the same way on Rebels, but now I'm not so sure.

No, I didn't read that. Kind of glad I didn't too.

Part of me wants to see this duel on Rebels, but the other part of me, that is looking more big picture, really wishes this confrontation would be saved for a stand alone Obi-Wan film. No single character or material is more deserving of an Anthology entry than that IMO. It would be the ultimate payoff for those who followed the CW and Rebels animated series and has been setup beautifully through those and the PT.

I couldn't agree more. Maul as the villain in an Obi-Wan solo film would be epic, and definitely a great payoff to their first fight and everything in-between as you mentioned. You never know, they could re-do it for the film if it ever gets made. Maybe more from Obi-Wan's perspective.

The thing with Maul is that his story is so much bigger outside of his first appearance in TPM, and it's all been told through other mediums. Audiences who potentially go see this film might be confused to see him there, it's too much story to get across in an "Obi-Wan" film. I could almost see the argument being made for a Maul solo film with him going after Obi-Wan.

More than any other character in the SW universe I want me some more Maul on the big screen. So whatever it takes, however they can incorporate him and give him a proper send off, I'm down for.
