The painted up prototypes are done by the factories, what you see is what you get. MTO is just to make the edition size more flexible instead of just stating a number at the onset, i haven't heard any changes to their stance on the 999 edition size.

For the most part.
Maybe the flames on Ghostrider are a little off.
Not denying XM is one of the best in the business.
Just this Poison Ivy and Dark Phoenix are a new level for this industry.

If you look at images of the Boba Fett prototype and compare them to the production piece, the paint app on the base of the prototype appears to have had a lot more work put into it.

With XM your going to get between 90%-100% of what the final prototype looks like. Iron Studios and Prime 1 are other examples of companies that match their prototypes fairly well.

I think the key for XM is that they just work with one factory and keep their edition sizes fairly low... When you have huge edition sizes your forced to work with multiple factories in order to get out all your products, that can be tough to stay on top of the QC... And I think that's where some other companies fall short in regards to being consistent with matching their prototypes.

Taken from XM Studios facebook page

Please note that the Pre Order List is paused momentarily as we rework some schedules. There will not be any POs this week until further notice.

Looks like XM is taking a short break

That’s good for my wallet especially this time of year
