They’re loose. You position them. Very easily done. I saw them assemble it at the con in Singapore. You have the option to not display them if you prefer to see more skin or cleavage.

the longest period ..they said 6 months max now but they also said more recently the have reorganized their PO schedule so maybe it has changed. Personnaly i don't care since i know when it will be shipped that's the most important and Q4 doesn't bother me at all.

The longest wait...i think it was for the Ultimate Swordsman but i'm not sure.
