It still isn't finished yet but thanks. Actually a lot of the changes (but certainly not all) were Ken's ideas. I think it is important for the artist to like what he is painting too to get his best work. We agreed when we started that I would always get final say since it is my piece but I really wanted his input as well since I am a noob at artwork.
As I said he is incredibly great to work with. He keeps telling me that he wan'ts me to be happy with it because in the end it will be mine and I will likely be looking at it on my wall for many years to come.
Also we don't have a written contract or anything but it is my understanding that I get the original oil painting and can sell it or keep it as I wish but it doesn't come with any publishing rights and he can still sell the image as a print at his website and sell it's image to any publisher or whatever he wants. I am certainly fine with that and I think it would be cool if it ever got used for a book or magazine cover or a story or whatever and I certainly don't know any publishing people anyway. I did ask Ken if I could have a sculpt made of it if I want and he said we could talk about that when it is done. I told him I know some guys that are relatively new to sculpting that would probably do one and sell maybe 20 copies. If he let's me do that cool, if not that's ok too. I mainly just wanted an original painting.
