Yes, Gambit is dead, sorta. His memories and powers live on in Rogue. At the very least his "body" is an empty shell, and probably dead.
Kinda like that whole carol danvers thing in the regular x-men, but with gambit.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

it's also a little too similar to Jean Grey after Muir Island Saga(used Emma's body,) also too much like Psylocke(twice,) and Cassandra Nova in Ernst and Stuff. too many recycled stories evreywhere. we should all be mad.

The only different is that Morrison didn't guide you by the hand and TELL you the whole Cassandra and Ernst thing. I bet you that if you tell people that read "New X-Men" about the whole thing, a lot of them wouldn't know. Nowhere in the series did anyone say "ERNST is Cassandra!!." Morrison just droped some hints here and there.

I'm glad I know this. Now I'm officially never gonna read the ultimate x-men.

I did already. I bought the first volume of the series and thought it sucked. I hate hte character redo's that they love doing.
