The proportions are all wrong. The waist and legs appear to have a different art direction to the torso and arms, the bottom being more animated and the top more realistic.
Megatron is much better than Optimus though.

Agreed. I liked their standing Starscream and Skywarp pieces but felt Optimus just looked off. Megatron is better but too thin.
I was hoping they would be perfect like Soundwave. Going with the smaller scale now also is a dispointment.

I think Kelpie was referring to the P1 transformers.
My two cents, IA Soundwave is beautiful, clean and close to the G1 look. Optimus got too busy, I wish they would have made him cleaner. Hoping Ultra Magnus is closer to the Soundwave design. Looks like starting with Optimus, they went in a different design direction.

Correct.
Yeah Soundwave and Ultra Magnus were designed by Dan Khanna. Then XM gave a preview of their TF's and IA got scared and changed art direction to be more detailed. I still like the first two better than all the others they've shown, however they have been getting better after they totally ruined Ironhide.

Good to hear about Ultra Magnus, excited to get him.
Sucks about Ironhide, I'm totally bummed about how he came out. That being said, Jazz looks phenomenal.

I think it’s the nub on the top looks too big. I looked at the G1 cartoon and the G1 toy. The sight is much smaller. Still looks good maybe the black paint on the fusion canon will put it into better perspective.
