That's so awesome! I can't wait to see the next chapter on this

I always thought it would be a pain to key a baked sculpture but you've proven me wrong!

Loving this! I like the idea of making 'bones' to facilitate posing. 'll have to give this a try.
Thanks for putting in the effort EPang!

Thanks guys, glad you're finding it helpful. Writing out my process and taking photos has been a fairly difficult process. I'm trying to strike a good balance between posting "just enough photos" and "too many" to document each of my steps. If i'm glossing over too much or if my descriptions dont make sense, please let me know. I'm making a big assumption that most of the artists on this forum already know the process or have their own methods of going about things.
I'm trying to document all my steps primarily using Super Sculpy/Firm since SS was my preferred medium when i was a beginner. There have definitely been several instances where making a waste mold and casting in wax would have made my refining process simpler. I'll try and show a little of the molding/casting process with the head for anyone interested, but I've seen some great threads on this forum that have touched up on it. I've already bookmarked a few other WIP threads for my own personal reference, so keep them coming. I've never used Monster clay, but i've seen other WIP threads using the material and now i'm very interested in it. Anyway, to those of you that already know what you're doing - thanks for looking. To the rest of you - I hope you find it useful.

REPARING
After final adjustments to the right arm, I get it ready to be repaired.

• I first cut/shave away enough of the area that i'll be repairing to fix.
• I then mix a small amount of epoxy putty that i'll use to reinforce the joint.
• I apply some superglue to the inside of the joint and then wedge the epoxy putty in the gap.
• After the epoxy is dry, i add vaseline and apply the supersculpy firm.
• Lastly i refine the clay with my sculpting tools and smooth out with turpenoid, before using my heat gun

SWAP-OUT-PARTS
I'll be using heavy duty magnets inorder to hold the hand and arm together while still allowing for replacement hands/parts to be swapped in. I have found that these magnets are perfect for 1:4 & 1:5 scale sculpts.

After the arm is fixed I use my scroll saw and cut off the hand at the wrist. I then use a 1/4" drill bit to bore out two small holes just big enough to fit the magnets: one on the arm side and the other on the hand side. You can use the superglue or epoxy to hold the magnets inplace. At this point i should beable to sculpt a hand holding a weapon and easily switch it out with the clawed version.

I then place the arm back on the body to make sure everything still looks good before starting work on the other arm/hand.
