Scanners
When I scan a picture these vertical lines go through the image.
Why?!
it didn't do it to begin with.
Is it because my scanner is crap?
Can it be fixed?

No one knows?
Anyway.
I was at the store today and I am planning on buying a HP printer/scanner combo machine. It's on sale.
Are Hp printers and scanners any good?
I have had a Cannon, totaly expensive paint cartridges!
Epson, a total load of crap! Even more expensive paint cartridges than Cannon.
Lexmark cheap cartridge nice print outs until the stripes on the scans started.

I've had an HP scanner/copier/printer for years never any problems.
Post the make and model of your scanner.
Also try emailing/chat tech support they should be able to help you.

Sounds like your printer needs to be cleaned or the ink has dried up.
You should have some type of utility program that lets you clean the printer try that before buying another one.

Delt with scanners for years since college, prob on its way out. If cleaning the glass doesnt fix it, then wont be able too.
ya scanners are dirt cheap now and they arnt going to get any better for awhile then whats out there now. I had a $60 AGPA scanner i bought like 9 years ago and it lasted me till i upgraded last year.
At work we have a scanmaker 6800 and its like 5 years old running strong still. Stay away from all those 3 in one scanners (fax, scanner, printer). They are total crap. Stick to a stand alone scanner and you will be fine.
