Just a terrible loss, but the man has suffered for so long I hope he's at peace. Just the nicest guy, too. At KC's Plantet ComicCon my youngest son and I met him, my son was and still is a huge fan of his work on Frankenstein and Cycle of the Werewolf and I was just in awe of him from Swamp Thing, House of Mystery and his other Horror work. His booth hadn't opened yet and a security guy was telling us to come back, but Bernie saw the excitement in my son's face and called us over. We sat down with him and helped him set up his booth, he chatted with my son for about 30 minutes, signed his books and gave him a hug. Just the sweetest artist I've ever met. His health struggles with brain cancer and seizures we're terrible to read and while I'm so sad by his passing I'm glad he's no longer suggering.

This really gets me. He was one of the people who inspired me to get into art. I never got to meet him, unfortunately, which is my loss. The world will be an emptier place with out him, but he leaves behind his friendships with others and his works to inspire us and new generations. R.I.P. Mr. Wrightson.

Huge loss for the industry. He was just an outstanding artist & so important in the Horror side of comics. I did have the pleasure of meeting him & shaking his hand at a Baltimore Con a few years back. I picked up a beautiful Frankenstein print that Mr. Wrightson signed. I collect the Creepy & Eerie Darkhorse collections, & somewhere, buried in a letters page in one of the early issue of either, a young Bernie Wrightson wrote a letter as a fan to the magazine. This always stayed with me & was a perfect example of how the best in the comics industry were once kids who loved comics. What a Comics-Publishing House they must have up in heaven.

Rest In Peace.
