best digital camera for $200

with the day after christmas sales, i may be able to snag a deal. what would you say are my best overall choices for a digital camera for around $200. feel free to give me your personal experiences with a model you may be recommending. thanks in advance!!!

Not sure what your needs/intentions are, but I just got my wife a Nikon Coolpix L18 for Christmas for $99 at Walmart.

Has a fair amount of user control and seemed solidly built. Takes a nice picture.

i'm looking for an everyday camera to snap pics of family, friends and my collectibles. i have a budget of $200. i've seen some nice canon digitals for around that price. looking mostly for a name brand. canon, nikon, minolta within the budget. thanks again...but no opinions please. (hoping asking for no opinions will yield many.)

you can't go wrong with Canon

their user interface is way easy and they take some great shots.

Canon's Powershot "point and shoot" series are great!

i used an SD800IS before i went full DSLR. my wife uses that camera now. it's nice and compact. takes pretty good pics too.

add a little more and go for a canon dslr used..you will enjoy it guaranteed..=)
