Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

Friday was fun,.....Vivienne and I saw the movie "Housebunny" for some brainless humor at the Grove. Well, despite the fact that it was simply just a cute and "campy" movie,..there were LOTS of moments where I thanked the Man upstairs for creating the most beautiful of creatures to ever walk the face of the earth!!!!!....yep,...you guessed it,....women!!!!!

And yes, there were plenty of scenes where you were just happy to be alive!! Yum!!!

On Saturday, drove to Valencia and met up with Dan (Weapon X) at the place called Creations in Chrome. Had the priveledge of meeting Gary! Great guy, down to earth and very approachable. Not to mention, very professional as well as fairly talented.!!! He was very accomodating and very willing to work with both Dan and I as we both had items that we wanted to have chromed. He expained the process and explained how if other people are going to want to have pieces like busts "chromed" that it will not be as simple as just painting the entire thing unless of course that is what is desired. Otherwise, he will have to "mask" off the sections that are not wished to be chromed. He also mentioned that in the case of my SIlver Surfer BUST, the he will have to more than likey chrome the bust and then go in afterwards and repaint the eyes, etc. In any event, he wanted us to help other forum members understand why he has to charge the price that he may have to for busts as the labor involved can in fact be comperable to the statues. But again, if you wish to have something chromed, I would recommend that you contact him directly regarding the specifics of your piece or pieces.

He said that the entire process (from painting to proper drying) should take about two to three days. I'll be picking them up at the end of this week.

After Dan and I left, we drove a little over an hour to get to the City of Indusrty (Asuza area) to go to Frank and Son's. As he mentioned, it was sort of like a HUGE Swap Meet!!!!! We had a great time looking around and checking out some great deals and such.

We had TONS of fun playing with the hand guns, pistols and rifles that were being sold at the Airsoft Gun display!! These things were cool!!!! Like paintball, excpet that they were more like "bee-bee" guns......they were air activated and were actually heavy and looked as though they were real!!! Fairly inexpensive and lots fun.!!!! Dan was nice enough to pass along the one pistol that he picked up to me to give to my brother in law for his birthday on Sunday, which by the way, HE LOVED!!!!!!!!!! I DO plan to go back and get one for myself and hope that Dan will go back with me so that we can both get one!!!! I know that the rats in Dan's Orchard will not like it when he gets home with one of those!!!!!!!
I also scored a GREAT deal on two Gentle Giant busts. Got the Chrome C-3PO anf the AOTC C-3PO for "dirt cheap!" Great deal on a few other books as well, including some variant covers from the Fathom series. Dan picked up some books as well!!! But we had no luck scoring his Captain America statue!!! There WERE a few vendors selling Bowen pieces both statues and busts and for good prices, but unfortunatley, I didn't need anything and neither did Dan!..

Overall, we had a GREAT time and it was well worth it,.......especially having dinner afterwards in "Little Korea town!" The Thai food was great!!!!! Looking forward to doing it again!!!!

Oh and another "perK' was that there was no entrance fe charge to get into the place!!!

Thanks again Dan for meeting me!!!!

Pictures to come soon!!!!

-Luis
