You are correct. Thanks for posting these, G. Buckler was definitely copying the layouts and using the same poses but wasn't tracing. I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually Marvel's idea to be honest. Kirby was still THE FF artist by this time and I wouldn't put it past them to request art to look as much like Kirby as possible. Mack isn't so much being accused as he's been flat out busted. Copying can be either setting an image next to you and redrawing it by eye or slapping it on a light table tracing it line for line. I believe Mack to be doing the later and neither is good hehe, but the tracing seems so much worse to me.

Yeah, I'd say that Buckler's stuff was more of a swipe than a tracing. Neither is good, but I'd say that the tracing Mack has been shown doing is the worse of the two.

If you can draw, why not just draw?

David Mack coming out to a con here in Australia in a couple of months got me thinking about this situation again. Do you guys think, four years on, that a cloud still hangs over his head, or that all is forgiven?

I suspect that most of those involved (particularly David Mack) would prefer to forget and move on.

Four years later, none of the "injured parties" (eg Adam Hughes) have expressed a desire or inclination to pursue the matter (to my knowledge). I think that David Mack is probably trying to re-build his reputation/career.

Ah, memories. I forgot all about this thread. Not the story though hehe. I never hear it brought up, so I think that people have either not heard or don't care anymore. I'm sure David is glad for it either way.
