Way back when, I purchased one of the early versions from Ellie Frazetta, but I have always had problems with the sculpt in general. A big part of the issue is that the sculpts that Frank approved had to conform as close as possible to the original art, and this is a good example of why it doesn't always work. Not only is the ring maile too large, there is no break in the lower legs, that would allow the DD to move...You could not fight in that gear, supernatural or not. The long handled axe was an invention to accommodate the pose, unlike the shorter axe used by the mounted DD...I really liked the direction Level 52 was taking with their original sculpt, but here we are, Nov 22,mulling the "best laid plans", that went nowhere.

Would love to see your paintwork on them. I?ve never seen those 2 versions side by side. Very nice.

I know Troy had to lift one foot on the Atlantis statue as he told me he just couldn?t make the anatomy look decent if he stayed true to the painting but Frank was already gone when he did that. I love the Atlantis statue and can see why he had to do it.

Wow man! Quarter Scale ! Even unpainted Man of Mars looks great. Do they have any other 1/4 or larger scales? I looked around but didn't see any. Love their Eva too.

I doubt it, given that Level52 made a licensed version just a few years back.

I have the 1/4 scale Level 52 version but ordered a 1/6 scale. At this price I want to check it out.

This is available I think through Jr from the Bradford Exchange. It is 10? tall for $179. Thoughts? I don?t love the ?ice warrior? plate. I would prefer no plate but if it has to have one at least Silver Warrior. I might still get it. IDK.

I'm not loving this. But the price isn't bad.
