My TV died. What should I buy?

My 10+ year-old 55" Samsung won't even turn on. I considered trying to have it fixed, but TVs have come a long way in the last decade, so it's time to buy a new one.

Any recommendations? I was considering this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08WG4HKKY...ding=UTF8&th=1

LOL, I was going to suggest an LG and that is the exact one I have! The picture is amazing on that OLED. If you do get an OLED be sure to keep the styrofoam side pieces that allow you to pick it up. You do not want to ever move it without them. The screen is so thin it could damage easily.

My last 4 TV's have all been LG's. I still have my 50" 3D-LED for watching 3D Blurays in my office, There is a 44" LED mounted on the wall of my patio and my Mom still uses my old 47" LED. The oldest one is the patio and I bought it in 2008. They are great TV's.

Go for the newer one..a lot better at a couple of bucks higher …on the same page “ On your Left” ….bottom left. Lol

LG 65-Inch Class OLED evo C2 Series Alexa built-in 4K Smart TV, 120Hz Refresh Rate, AI-Powered 4K, Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos, WiSA Ready, Cloud Gaming (OLED65C2PUA, 2022)

I only own LGs in my house now..great picture quality. Had Samsungs..they were great..but the LG is sharper.

Here is a quick review from CNET…

The C2 represents the pinnacle of picture quality at a price that's admittedly high, but not too crazy. It beats any non-OLED TV on this list, including the Samsung QN90B below, with its perfect black levels, unbeatable contrast and superb off-angle viewing. It also has superb gaming features, making it the perfect companion to an Xbox Series X or S, PlayStation 5 or both. The C2 comes in a variety of sizes as well, although the bigger models are expensive.

Improvements over the C1 from last year include carbon-fiber construction for up to 47% lighter weight -- the 65-inch version we reviewed weighs just 37 pounds with its stand, compared to 72 pounds for the 65-inch C1 -- as well as some additional tweaks to game mode and a new "always ready" feature.

The prices shown below are for the 65-inch size. Read our LG C2 series OLED TV review.

I own a 10+ year old Samsung 46" and compared to many TV's the picture has always looked excellent. I hope it does not die anytime soon.
Fact is, the day it does die, will present the ideal time to move on from HD to 4K

Haha, I also have the LG C1, got it back in March, my first OLED and I love it! Seeing that the C2 is only $200 more (at Best Buy, already listed as a Black Friday deal), I'd go for that instead, but you can't go wrong with the C1 either.

It used to be Samsung had the best picture but Sony had the best reliability. That was 10 years ago. My 55" Sony is still going strong. Will buy a Sony OLED soon though. I like 120hz refresh rate and 4 HDMI ports. I'd imagine most TVs have come a long way and you can't go wrong with any of the top brands.

I have had bad luck with both Samsung and LG tv's in the last few years. Have gone with Sony and have not had any issues. I know they are pricier but that brand has worked for me. If you have the cash, get an OLED version. Mine looks spectacular.

Thanks, guys! Sounds like the LG OLED 65" is a good way to go. Now to decide whether to go with the C1 or spend a few hundred more for the C2.
