That list have ONLY MK1 / MK2 fighters

From that, the most voted was Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Kitana and Kung Lao, and that's exactly the ones they hinted on SDCC on Instagram:

Iron Studios already said that this year come more MK, so I think they will follow that votation pretty close.

Just for you guys know, from what I remember, the next ones was:

Reptile / Shang Tsung / Mileena all very close

and Kano, Jax and Kintaro with very few votes

Kind of annoying to me that Kitana was beating Johnny Cage, yet they chose to make Johnny first, as his concept art was shown at the show in December.

No, is not that, on the votation Liu was first, and Johnny second, Kitana was in third place, and then Kung Lao in last, that was in 2023.

Now, before the start of SDCC 2024 they hinted this 4 on instagram again, just teasing with us, they already have Liu Kang to show, and in that post Kitana was in second

I actually ping-ponged in my head on whether I'd want MK2 or MK3 Shang. I like them both almost equally. MK2, I feel has a more martial arts aesthetic, while MK3 leans heavier into the evil sorcerer design. I think MK2 Shang feels more like a counterpart to Liu Kang, but is just a little too simplistic in design for me to choose it over MK3.

Yeah, he looks much more sinister in the MK3 costume. I prefer those designs over the previous two games for many of the characters, especially Kitana, Mileena and Shang. The MK3 Sonya design we got is also my favorite Sonya costume as well. Plus, that's the game that introduced Sindel, Sheeva and Motaro, which are some of my favorite characters.

Hopefully Sheeva's costume doesn't impede her chances of getting made. I mean, we already got Goro, who wears as little or less, but NRS makes some goofy ass decisions when it comes to the classic female costumes that are more revealing.

Yeah, that would be very sad. I know Sheeva isn't that popular, but I've always loved her - even more after her storyline in MK11.

NRS is a VERY hypocritical company these days. They've been pushing DEI in their games, yet MK1 has the least amount of female characters they've had in many years. Not only was the base roster lacking enough females, then they came out with an entire 6 character Kombat Pack of all male characters. Then in the recently announced expansion, instead of giving us more female characters people wanted, such as Sonya, Jade, Sareena, Skarlet, etc. they gender swap Cyrax and Sektor to be female and call it a day.

Also look at what they did to PCS. They forced them to add black mesh to their ninja girls statues (that was NEVER in the games) to cover up the small amount of cleavage the MK3 costumes have, and then they allow IS to make statues of Liu and Johnny shirtless.

Shang Tsung in MK3 is supposed to look like Alice Cooper, the eyes painting are exactly that, this are words from Ed Boon back on 95.

That said I never liked, Shang Tsung for me must be the old one inspired from Big Trouble in Little China movie, he must be oriental, not some rock star.

I would buy both an old and a young Shang, should they ever decide to do both. Even though I do like the MK3 Shang, I have to give it to MK11 as the GOAT. Not only his look in the game, and the fact he had both young and old skins, but he was voiced by the legendary Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa.
