What's with these mufflers?
Ok, back in my days, we used to add Thrush mufflers to get that real deep motor sound. But I don't get the ones they are putting on cars now. Sort of a high pitched 50cc dirt bike sound. IMO, makes the cars seem kiddish and not manly.

I don't get it either. Might as well weld a coffee can on your mufflers and you'll get the same sound. Just another way to try to get you to look at their lame 95 honda civic

Ive noticed on recent episodes of American Chopper that they have had to put low noise mufflers on the bike. I think it was an EPA requirement.

That's a V6 man, that's the sound you get. The V8s sound like they always have and run better.

That's the trend, man. Small cars that sound like lawnmowers, with big spoilers & rims that cost more than the car. Oh, and at least one nascar sticker to show that you like to drive fast. The dumbest being "I'm not speeding, I'm qualifying". It's all corny as heck.

Actually I think the ones that have the fart can exhaust are usually 4 bangers. 6 cylinders give a slight rumble though still sound pretty crappy. V8s always sound the best. And the bigger the engine gets, the deeper the rumble gets.

I used to remember growing up with Super Trapp mufflers disk systems.

That is why I like my Magnaflow...nice deep rumble and an increased top end...no fart box sound...
A friend of mine has a DC IIRC on his Prelude and sounds like a dirt bike to me...he likes it though and his ride is sexy as hell!!!
Speaking of rims that cost more than the car...it got me thinking of my old boss...he spent 10 grand on rims for his CTS...crazy stuff...but it did look hot!!! I would be too scared to take my ride out and risk scratching up my rims if I spent that much...I flip out when I get a little scratch on them now...and they were about $100 each...LOL!!!

Back in the day, we used to place baseball cards by the spokes of our bicycles to get a vroooom sound.

Sometimes I will be next to a 4 cylinder Honda and it sounds like it's going to blow up! How can someone drive a vehicle with that noise! Stupid.
