I was actually in Japan couple months ago and saw the Yamash!ta girl busts(produced by Koto) selling for double the US price...
But I have to say, though twice as pricey Japanese local version has better quality...
As far as I know pre-painted statue has always been a luxury for Japanese people regardless of the final quality.
I believe some Japanese companies even use different factory lines to produce oversea version which lower cost but also lower quality...
Anyway we will see the real deal soon.
