OC, I remember when Aspen prints were popular. Luckily, I only bought one at the time. I think the problem was the insane amount of variants. I am going to be listing all my prints for sale soon. I was never much of a print collector, just had a friend that was into them. I love coloring books though. They are cheap and provide hours of fun. But I can't justify $20 for one. I can't see them selling out.
Yeah, it was definitely the reprinting/variants that sunk the Aspen print market, that and ripping people off by selling open edition prints as limited editions. And Aspen is reaping exactly what they sowed for those actions as thier print business is literally a tiny fraction of what it once was. They used to sell out with every single print they brought to market and thier eBay auctions used to bring in a significant amount each week. Now prints rarely ever sell out and most print auctions end with just 1 or 2 bids, if any at all, and wind up selling for $15-$20.

In fact, just last month they raised thier starting price on eBay from $14.99 to $24.99 and that is a direct result of the lack of money thier eBay auctions have been bringing in. Again, most prints are lucky to even get 1 or 2 bids and they wind up selling in the $15-$20 range and many haven't been selling at all. So they upped the starting price to $24.99 with shipping being $24.99, even on comics and books. So they are now trying to make money even on shipping as I can guarantee it doesn't cost $25 to ship a comic or an art book.

It really is a shame as they had one of the most successful print businesses in the entire history of the comic market and thier prints were valuable, very easy to sell, and HIGHLY sought after. Just shows you what happens when you completely screw over your fanbase and get greedy, which is actually a huge understatement when describing what Aspen pulled during those years. Unfortunately, I purchased a LOT more than just 1 print, lol. In fact, I purchased about 400 and sunk over $25k into them. The only thing that makes that fact even remotely bearable for me today is the fact that I had an amazing run on the silver market during that same period of time. I purchased a crap load of silver during the crash of 2008 and wound up selling most of it off in early 2011, which is right around the time I was purchasing all those Aspen prints. The money I wound up making on silver wound up being significantly more than the money I wound up losing on my Aspen prints. So it doesn't bother me nearly as much as one might think, although it does still bother me. Plus I really do love the artwork as I am still a HUGE Turner fan even in light of Aspen's actions in recent years. Turner certainly wasn't responsible for any of it so I really shouldn't let it effect the way I view his artwork. Still, my days of supporting Aspen have definitely come and gone!!

Of course. Now that they are making lots of money with coloring books, they will try and bring all of these kinds of things to adults now to see of they can catch on as well. One of my personal favorites as a child were the hidden pictures from Highlights books.

I have a dot to dot book. It is extremely complex. These pages have some puzzles that hit hundreds of dots.

I asked the person behind the head of Craig's colouring book if it was possible to add the option of a Morpheus/Sandman sketch & he said he would get back to me

Due to Popular demand, they have added Sandman as an option

Also,Dark Horse has 4 different Star Trek Colouring books: Star Trek TOS & TNG, Firefly & Buffy TVS
