Just for reference, the original this was taken from(which was not even screen used) just sold last year for almost $30K. Yes it is expensive, but hopefully the quality will be there.

The entire life-size Raptor head from Chronicle was around that price originally, ECC charging a similar amount for one eye alone would be hilarious.

But this was one of my favorite pieces announced and I'm a big fan of Hinderstein, not only he's an amazing artist but also a super cool and friendly dude. I just have to get this.

And even though I strongly dislike the pricing as it's unlikely the final product will live up to Hinderstein work, it's still a better deal than that Hatching T-Rex to me.
From the vid I saw this looks much larger than the raptor pieces they will be doing so I expect that to be cheaper. They made those busts for Chronicle, so they can have good pricing if they wish.

I'd rather they just made a1:1 Rex head rather than an eye and smaller than life sized eggs.

To be fair the eye is probably the hardest part to make. Still probably be at least $8-10K for that bust.

As long as I can make payments on it I'm good.

I think it's interesting how the scale detail is completely different from that OG reference, and much more accurate to the actual SWS 1:1 head.

Guess they rightfully based the texturing on this OG instead:

So at least when it comes to the prototype, the piece is a considerable improment over the one sold in the auction and this in itself is crazy.

Definitely one of my favorite announced JP products, I remember when we were asking Chronicle to make similar pieces back in the day and now here they are. Can't wait to have it and display it next to this perfect complimentary piece I can't wait to order:

What a dream line ECC is making.
