I think they are trying to protect their own merchandise brand from competition but I'd think as a company it is costing them more than they are getting. They could have made a fortune from a bunch of cheap Final Fantasy crap over the years and we could of had some nice high end statues.

It's strange that they license out their characters to other game developers like Nintendo and Namco though.

Not sure if it counts, but Kingdom Hearts is still part Square and Bandai and Good Smile Company made some toys of them. I'm hoping that Final Fantasy characters would follow soon.

Do you mean the Amiibo figures? I've seen 2 versions of Amiibo Cloud. The AC version and the FF7 ver.

high end collectibles market is where the market is at and where they could sign mulitiple lucrative licensing contracts yet they refuse to do so. Can you imagine if they had a build your own avatar 1/4 scale FF14 character to match your in game character? Hell ff7 remake is probably the greatest selling game they've had in years and they didn't release any significantly high priced high end collectible for it. Their marketing and merchanising team is a complete disaster and failure to generate any sustaining revenue for their company and it frustrates me so bad.

I was referring to Square Enix licensing their characters to appear in games from other developers such as Smash Brothers and Tekken. Their gaming department seems more willing to collaborate than their merchandise department.

Anyone posting unlicensed products or links to them will be banned. This is something that we should not even have to mention. There will be no warning. If you have something posted in the past, please delete it because if we see it, we will ban you. If you don't know if it is licensed or not, don't post it then.

Well, I have no good way of knowing what is licensed or not so I guess there is no point in posting anything if the rules are going to be this harsh and unforgiving. Good bye.
