I think we will see part 2 in 2016 but probably not that date. That would be taking an unnecessary risk.

It's only logical that Marvel'd plan a sequel after seeing how the first one performed at the box office . GoG is Marvel's biggest risk so far afterall.

Agreed. Not being familiar with GoG at all the whole idea of a Raccoon (even if it's a popular GoG character) just sort of turns me off. Don't get me wrong, it's a comic related movie so I will be there opening night as I always am for comic related movies. But I just don't have the level of excitement as I have for IM, Avengers, X-Men DOFP, Superman.

I'm the opposite. I am way more excited to see this than X-men , especially when Vaughan dropped out. I've always loved the cosmic characters though. Still think ASM2 will be the biggest comicbook movie this year.

I think most people feel the same for X-men.

+1. Knowing next to nothing about the GOG characters, I can't get excited about the movie but since it's a comic related movie, I'll be there opening weekend to check it out.

If you read the Annihilation storyline and miniseries with the GotG, you will definitely appreciate the raccoon.
