equal?? in sort of way? as a fighter definately Cap has the edge. I also think he is a better leader than Bats too. Bats on the other hand, is smarter and a better detective. as a whole, I would probably say they are even. on the stealth issue I give the edge to Bats.

Without weapons, fighting in a ring, I would say Cap has the edge given that he is stronger and has greater endurance.

With weapons and in an urban environment, Bats has the advantage given his wider variety of offensive tactics (utility belt) and greater stealth.
The longer the battle, I'd think the more it favors Cap. However, because Batman doesn't always fight fair, is familiar with more fighting styles, and is generally a more wary fighter (he's had to be, given he has no super strength), I'd give the very slight edge to Batman as I doubt Batman would let a fight go too long anyway. He'd take off and fight another day.

I'm not generally sold on the "stronger" guy winning scenario. Cap has proven that many times over as his nemesisesses tend to be much stronger than he.

If bats can find a way to beat superman, Cap would prove to be a piece of cake.

Bats wins, sorry folks. The fans voted, and remember Bats was the one standing at the end of the day.

Weren't those the same fans that voted for Superman beating the Hulk?

Batman is definitely a better detective, but if it's a fight I would expect Cap to win 9 out of 10.

Cap would wipe the pavement with Bat's cowl, face still attatched. is that too gruesome? Seriously, though. Cap would win.

Took a while to find, but here you go...Bruce Wayne versus Steve Rogers.

and from another battle, we see again that it could go on for hours...but only Batman seems out of breath.

I think we all know the story of Bruce's preparation to be Batman and the intense training we endured at the hands of the best martial artists in the world. I've read a lot of Captain America and do not remember any stories that even hinted at him having a similar level of training, other than Byrne's elseworld story. Can someone point to evidence that Cap's martial arts knowledge is anywhere near BAtman's?

Batman has made a career of finding ways to take down opponents that outclass him in the strength and speed departments-- Cap goes down.
