So now that you have it in hand...how do you feel about the changing of the african like masks to the Wakandan panther rock statue?

The statue as a whole looks good so I'm taking it for just that. I don't know what type of story it tells since the panther rock plants this piece in Wakanda...the context of the statue...he's obviously in a fighting stance or movement, so he's about to fight in Wakanda? He's just striking a cool pose for the hell of it? He's defending a Wakandan border? I think the later makes more sense so for me that will be it. Whereas the old masks say that he's elsewhere fighting. Aside from the last few years of comics where Wakanda has been repeatedly ravaged (AvX, New Avengers/Infinity, etc), traditionally Wakanda wasn't invaded so there wouldn't be much fighting inside of it aside from training. Maybe infighting amongst its tribes (like in Priest's run). Maybe some unruly White Gorilla or Lion cultists. But the fighting probably wouldn't spill into Panther cult territory. Then again, maybe he's squaring off against Killmonger or Achebe. That would give the statue some sort of context as to why he's fighting in his own territory.
I think too much. I'll just enjoy this awesome looking statue.
But as a globe traveling adventurer, diplomat, and off/on member of Avengers, FF or whatever, I'm not sure why every statue of Black Panther has to be in Wakanda anyway. We recently got a whole movie with Black Panther and Wakanda was only a small tidbit at the end. Black Panther can be anywhere, and has in the comics.
