Tom Raney is the coolest muthafu$#a on the planet...
Yo,
At WW today myself, wktf and dana p. all had a chance to chat w/Tom Raney. He did a thor sketch for wk, a black widow sketch for myself, and did a lil metapmorpho sketch in my outsiders tpb.
Then he shot the sh$# on his work (the dude is totally humble, we were kissing his a$# and he got all embarrased), his upcomming stuff (top secret ultimate universe project) and how he digs fantasy and how it broke his heart when they cancelled Thor. I asked him who is favorite chica is to draw, and he said "whatever one I'm doing at the time".
I also told him about leon's tomraneyfan.com web site, and how a bunch of us here at statueforum think he's the sh$#. He said that was really cool, and it meant a lot to him that we were all such loyal fans.
He also talked about his favorite comics (new avengers, young avengers, big preacher fan back in the day), and how is is a total wednesday geek like the rest of us.
He is by far one of the coolest comic people I have ever met, and for a true talent he is a humble guy. Like wktf said, meeting him was one of the things that made going to the con freakin' awesome.
I'll post pics of the sketches he did later, probably on monday or maybe tomorrow.

Raney is an awesome guy to talk to at cons. Two years ago at Wizard World Texas, he was signing with Scott Hanna. I managed to get a Raney Cyclops and a Hanna Loki.

Yeah! And it was really nice of Sam to give it to me. It's in my office right now!
Until I mail it to him this afternoon.

It is. Raney did an awesome job on that Black Widow head sketch. Love the Thor sketch he did for me. Wish I had a digital camera so I could post a pic. Now I need a Raney Lord Thor sketch to go with my Raney classic Thor!

Aiight, here it is. Brother Cage sent it in the mail to me, and I got it safe and sound the other day. Enjoy. Tom Raney does the black widow...
