Well as a recent purchaser of the Toshiba HD DVD player and adopter of the HD DVD format to go along with my awesome Sony Bravia HD TV I was just wondeirng what all you HD DVD folks have in your collections. My first three will be...
Enter The Dragon
Serenity
Sky Captain
...once I pull the trigger to purchase one on amazon. They're selling them for $459 shipped. Sounds like a great deal to me. On top of that, they will throw in an addition 10% off on any already discounted HD-DVD movies for one whole year when one purchases three movies with the player. Should I do it? My urges say yes, but my gf says wait four more months.

Boy for an older gent, you sure like to show off eh, Zurbie?!
That seems like a very good price Kaza, I'd jump on that deal if I could at the moment. Even still though if I did pull the trigger I've no TV to go with it, so I rather buy the screen first and go from there. I'm thinkin of going with Toshiba's 30" HD TV for my room, and then simply pick up the same player Zurb has a while later.

Hardly Ghost. My setups don't even come close to some of the ones folks around here have. But I'm happy with what I got and loving HD DVD.

I think you have a more then decent set up. I think when it comes to sound that's when ppl really pull out the big guns. And where I get a tad confused

I'm with you there. My sound setups are definitely not ideal or even close. I've got a Bose 321 surround system on my 50 inch set. The room is a weird shape and doesn't lend itself to a 5 or 6 speaker set up and I wasn't looking to run cables all over the place or through the walls at this point. I will say that the 321, to this amateur, does an admirable job and will do for now.
My wife did not want any additional equipment in our BR with the Bravia so that one is basically the TV speakers which aren't bad at all. I came up with my own personal (and somewhat pricey) sound solution. I splurged on a set of AKG Hearo 999 digital wireless surround headphones. Awesome sound.
