Really? I find that hard to believe. You're not the first person I've heard say that though. I've got a 50". I sit about 12 feet away from the screen. It seems like at that size, there'd be a big difference.

All I know is that when I see the 40" at BB playing PoTC, the picture is astonishing. Granted, I'm only 5 or 6 feet away, but I'd think the picture would still be noticably better than 720p at 12 feet. I'll have to check the next time I'm there.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

That`s a little odd, as you should be viewing a 50" screen from no less than 10'.

These numbers are so wacky to me. I didn't think anyone sat this close to their tvs. Especially 50" or bigger. I mean...7'?! That's right on top of the thing. I understand that it helps to be that close, but it still seems strange that you can't see a significant difference from 10 or 11'. I'll do some testing when I'm out today.

You have what?

It makes me wonder why people even bother buying smaller sets for. I see a lot of 40" and smaller sets out there, but from the sounds of it, they're not even worth having in 1080p unless your knees are touching the entertainment center.

So, you haven't seen Ratatouille yet? The story's great as always and the film is so gorgeous it hurts. Every movie Pixar makes surpasses the last. I can't wait to see it for real. Sunday, my new 52" XBR4 will be here!

I here that Cars is one of the most incredible transfers out there. I'll definitely pick that one up too. Just bought PoTC End of the World and 300. I've caught the HD bug big time.
