Check Out My Old Nes Games

My grandmother is being sent off to a retirement home.

Cleaning out her apartment I dug out my old Nes and it's games. I had my Nes there when I was on vacation as a kid.

I don't have an old 4:3 TV anymore so I don't know if the Nes still works.

I have taken some closeups of the games.

My question is, cartridges like this, do they still work?

These games can still rival any games released these days.

I still have plans to buy a wiiU and download all the Nes and SNes games I had and the ones I never had but always wanted.

I plan on selling my old Nes games, if someone can tell me if they work?

I sold alot of the games back then, now I only have Super Mario 3, Punch Out, Mario Bros. and Castlevania.

No one is going to be able to tell you if they work. You're going to have to plug the thing into an older tv and see for yourself.

That's not exactly what I mean.

On the closeups, do you notice it looks like some of the "gold teeth" are missing?

I can't remember if they are supposed to be like that?

My cousin have been playing on my Nes after me when he was on vacation at my grandmas so he may have ruined the games.

why can't you hook it up to your current tv and check it? the output from the NES (either RCA or RF) is still supported on modern tv's and it doesnt matter that your tv isn't 4:3 as it will still display just fine on a widescreen tv.
As far as I remember the gap in the contacts is normal, at worst they might need a clean to get a good connection. But from personal experience with old cartridges I'm 99% sure they'll work just fine

if for whatever reason they don't work there is a fail safe method of fixing them (unless they somehow got damaged/broken back in the day)

just grab a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol. Put some alcohol on the q-tip and run it along both sides of the copper contacts of the cartridge.

I've used this method to clean plenty of older games (NES/SNES/N64) over the years and they work like new again

Good luck

Thanks for the info El D and Invasion.

I'm no tech geek. I realy wish I knew my tech but when all that technical mumbo jumbo comes up, TV, guides, reviews, it's like reading ancient Greek.

I do have an update.

tried hooking up the Nes to a Samsung LCD screen.

Nothing happned.

I may have been doing it wrong, it does not surprise me.

what input type did you use? remember if you use the rf cable you'll have to tune into the channel the nes is broadcasting on (the same as when you tune your tv to receive normal tv programs)

I hooked it up wrong.

I used wire that need to be plugged into the antenna cable.

When I used red and yellow wires for AV it worked fine.

It realy works.

I was planning on selling it, but I had so much fun I almost want to keep it and buy games for it instead. LOL.
