I concede it has some movement, a slow walk, sure. "Museum" maybe isn't the right word. Dynamic poses are what I love, like Thor, Breaker of Brimstone or SS Gambit, and this is not that. But I would be happy to own this Colossus, the anatomy and costume textures and details are beautiful.

I think the real question is whether this piece complements the other pieces in Sideshow’s X-Men line. I think it does.

Depends on who's asking the question. I only commented because people try to divide us into two camps, XM vs SS and I like both for different reasons.

Same here, I will buy from any company as long as the statue fits the bill... so far my X-Men team looks like this.

SS Wolverine
SS X-23
XM Storm
XM Dark Phoenix
XM Colossus
XM Cyclops

I liked SS Rogue but the mix media jacket and Danger Base were negatives to me so I'm hoping XM will make her soon... I also passed on XM Ice Man, SS Colossus and Gambit due to there Danger Room Base...

I was disappointed by SS offerings of Psylocke, Mystique, Jean Grey & Emma Frost, each for different reasons... Hoping XM will do Psylocke and Jean Grey soon... I did own XM's Mystique for a short time but her 1:3 scale made her not fit in with the other X-Men scale wise so I sold her...

I disliked SS Magneto toyish looking base and cloth cape & I wasn't crazy about XM's Magneto with the white outfit. I'm on the fence with Sabretooth, I like both XM's and SS, although banana gate turned me off a bit to SS version... I'm not sure I like the character enough to spend $1000+ on XM's version..

I did pre-order XM's Emma Frost, I know the base does not fit in with the rest of my X-Men but I'll put her on her own shelf Maybe with XM's Professor X

I really like this statue. I don’t mind cloth capes and jackets but full costumes I agree this would’ve been best sculpted. But I love that he’s standing upright. Big guys get hunched over too much. Displayed with other characters you really see how tall this is as he towers over them.

As for him looking down I don’t really see it as him looking down but I see it as his head is bowed and he has no pupils but I imagine he’s still looking up. It’s not untypical of someone pissed or determined before they’re about to make their move to have their head down but their eyes are looking up.

Like these folks here

Just my interpretation. For me that makes more sense than him actually looking down. It’s just remembering that ones pupils don’t have to be in the same direction as their head. Colossus just doesn’t have visible pupils.

Looks like you don't like any bases with danger room on it. May I ask, why so?

For me, SS Rogue and SS Gambit is too good to be missed out.. I'm hoping to get XM Iceman next as it's the best Iceman statue as compared to any other customs out there.

SS Colossus is really boring. Truly a sleeper piece.. XM Colossus is the way to go!

I'm just trying to keep my bases consistent as I have one big shelf that I put all my X-Men statues on... I just think it looks better that way vs having a hodge podge of bases. If all I collect was X-Men statues then I would start a second shelf with the Danger Room Bases but I'm also into DC statues and old movie star statues... with some Spider-Man thrown in here and there...

I concur. This is definitely not as dynamic as SSC Thor BoB and SSC Gambit. So I understand what you mean.

But I like this for the same reason you do ...the anatomy, costume and details are beautiful. And I'm glad the pose doesn't have him crouching or twisting that might take away from that.

Totally agree with you. That's how I interpreted it, too.

But it's like you said, he has no visible pupils here. And that makes it hard to tell.

I loved both portraits on this statue, tho. They were exceptional.

+1 for the latest SS Colossus over the previous one and XM... not going to get any but if I did, would be from SS for this character
