Personally I think it would be inappropriate to cast Ariel as Indian
Aladdin has a Indian / Persian cast
Ariel should be able to sing and Halle Bailey can sing
I hope she does a great job in the role

I'm a big Little Mermaid fan and I'm okay with race swapping. I don't want her to have red hair though. They should go with hair/makeup/wardrobe that actually matches her complexion.
King Triton will likely be black at this point too. But what about Prince Eric? That's when the real controversy will start. No matter what race he is, people are going to troll.
