It's like they took the ultimate line from Marvel but just made it part of the regular universe. I guess JMS's "Superman: Earth One" was their way of testing it.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Lots of questions as to how they will handle this....

Not sure if I care too much about that, my question is more along the lines of what are they going to do with D!ck Grayson? Is he going to be Robin or Nightwing? What about the new versions of Superboy and Wonder Girl? I will be interested in how they handle a event of this scale.

Of course in another year when sales are down, I am sure they will revert back to the current continum.

Yeah, they will probably do this for a few issues and then revert back to the regular continuity PLUS keep the other universe issues that sell well going

I doubt there will be any truly major changes, this is yet another "one year later" type reboot. Mainly cosmetic I'll bet. The Earth One universe is going to be DC's Ultimate universe.

Whatever.....What it comes down to is that DC and, I'm sure Marvel to follow, have made so many unbelievably complicated, unnecessary, ridiculous, epic/crossover inspired, impossible to follow changes over the past 10+ years, that they're now forced to reboot so new & old fans can follow. Don't start from scratch 'cause things are a mess, and call it some sort of Master Plan. I get the e-reader push and am fine with that, but don't paint yourself into a massive corner and call the eventual "have-to" fix a planned reboot. Remember when they did it with Crisis? Dumb enough to let this happen, while claiming that they're smart & savy enough to smooth it all out. Keep on churnin' out the year long crossovers and the year long follow-ups, keep killing characters then bring them back, sponge away decades of continuity in a 5-issue arc, substitute the tried 'n true character with some hip, angst teen replacement.....then just reboot when it all just stumps both new & longtime readers.

Just the latest round of BS from the big 2 that's meant to "shake things up", "redefine core characters", and/or be "a great jumping-on point for new readers". How they can make these announcements with a straight face is beyond me - it happens so often that I'm surprised anyone notices anymore. I'll just keep reading the great stuff from Dark Horse, IDW, Humanoids, etc.
