Try to handle the T-800 as little as possible. I use surgical gloves so that fingerprint oil doesn't get onto the surface.

This time I used Alclad II Chrome in a can (to try it out as I never used the can version before). I also decanted some for any spot painting or airbrushing. Again, like before... very light first coat and allow to dry completely. It can seem forever, just make sure you have something you can go do.

I hang my guys in the shower area as it is more dust free than any other area in my shop.
I did 3 coats and allowed to dry again for a full 48 hours before handling.

Now for the detailing. Use surgical goves still... fingerprints are chrome's deadliest enemy.

I used acrylic paint, you could use enamels too. I mixed a black, a burnt sienna and burnt umber slush. Cinemaquette's T-800 was used for the guide. I applied a bit more of the black drippy weathering to the joints to simulate lube. Be fugal / careful with where you place any paint. Be specific. Acrylics have a film that once goes over the Alclad chrome, can ruin it's shininess, is hard to totally remove and will make the chrome flat. I placed thicker black paint in the holes on the head so that the red light will not shine through.

I painted the teeth with an off white paint mixed w a little bit of 'naples' yellow, so they aren't totally white but more natural looking.

I didn't use any sealer. I've done research and doesn't look like Alclad Chrome will stay shiny with any sealer.

Remove the tape/tac from the eyes. I also epoxied the mouth shut as he doesn't look right with a gaping mouth.

Cool

BOOM! and there you go! With some nice lighting, you too can have a $50 toy look almost as good as a $1,000 statue!
