Canadian Forces makes cuts to reserves

Found out on Friday that my full-time contract will not be renewed come 1 April 2010.
While this isn't the best time for me to be out of full-time work and would have liked to have completed a couple of more years where I was working, I am thankful for the time I did have.
So now I've just over two months to find something else to do or else you may be seeing some pieces up for sale from me.

I just looked up the amount of people in the military for Canada and they can't afford to lose any. They should be concentrating on adding people daily. Not cutting.

Why? It's not like we have many active military operations going on at the moment and the public at large (in Canada) has been wanting a reduced role in Afghanistan for years, that would indicate cuts are the way to go. Times are tough for everyone.
