Opinion time for what to get from Mignola

I was at the tail-end of Long Beach Comic Con last year at the artist signing table for Mr. Mignola and was fortunate enough to get a Spectre sketch from him on a blank cover. Since I was the last person in line I just shot in my, “Can I get a Spectre sketch?” line and he said yes. He did ask what the Spectre looked liked (I then found out after getting back into comics more that he did a ton of Spectre covers in the 80s so that question surprised me). He seemed a nice guy and also signed the two The Phantom comics I brought for signing.

Alas no Mike Mignola art. He wasn't sketching or doing commissions or such. He did sign my books and seemed conversational, but no sketches (although I'm know I did see him do at least one quick head sketch of Hellboy but I think it was for a kid, so I'll give him a pass on it). This is twice now that he's shot me down so I've given up on it. Maybe one day I'll get some of his predone art, but it all seemed a bit pricey to me for what it was and the size of it. At least in my opinion, and I really like his art and style.
