Not a certain artist who has initials EVS, is it?

No, but he's notorious as well. Let's just say he's probably got the worst rating of anyone on our commission experience thread.

I used to be a fan. I got a commission from him at NYCC in 2009. When I approached him, and told him how much I liked his work his attitude was like "eh". I inquired about getting a commission, and he tells me it'd be $150, kind of with a "i want your money but I don't even want to talk to you" attitude. I had really wanted a piece from him, so I went through with it. I was not thrilled with the results, and in retrospect, I'd not have arrange it had I been thinking clearly. :/

It's sad to see the state of so many commissions. Unfortunately, we saw the writing on the wall years ago. Greed sometimes becomes too hard to resist. However, like Monster said, with some exceptions, unless there's a reputable dealer or rep in the middle, it truly is buyer beware.

I feel for the buyer. I'm glad he outed the artist and hope he gets this matter resolved.
