well, I don't want to list the artists, for various reasons, but in no particular order:
1) I commissioned a relatively new artist to draw a commission of one of the main characters of book he recently started working on, and the character was drawn hideously. She is supposed to be beautiful and sexy, and he made her about as unattractive as possible.
2) My wife bought me a cover redo commission, and the artist drew the main 2 characters of the cover, but left the supporting characters and backgrounds off the piece. I feel like she got ripped off.
3) I ordered a cover quality commission from an artist, through his rep, was supposed to be done within a couple weeks because the artist was in a financial mess and needed the money. i over-nighted a money order. The piece took way longer than expected. The rep told me to make up for it, the artist agreed to do a free 11x17 pen and ink single character commission for free. Great! The package eventually arrived, no extra piece. i inquired about it and was told that was never agreed upon. This was one of several instances where I had issues with this rep and commissions.
4) I ordered a commission from an up-and-coming artist. i asked for a front shot, sexy, skimpy clothes piece, and the artist drew a fully clothed character, rear shot. I rejected the piece and the artist was pissed. he made a huge post on his blog about how he was commissioned for porn and made some adjustments to the piece so he was comfortable and then he got screwed. yeah. Never talked to that guy again.

I'm not too crazy about my Thor vs Terrax done by Shelby Robertson. The anatomy is a turn off, as is Terrax's "half axe" and Thor's hammer. Considering what he charges, I guess I can't complain too much, but this is my least favorite piece.

This one arrived without me getting a prelim scan (long story) and when I first laid eyes on it, I just stood there wondering what the hell it was.
I asked for classic Mystique and got that and the artist wouldn't even begin to discuss the issue!
