when I last spoke to Mignola he was hedging away from ever doing con sketches again unless it was Catwoman in her bronze age costume. You should target that to increase your odds of getting me, I mean you, something

I may be in the minority here but I love Mignola, hate Mignola sketches. They're too...sketchy.

I have also noticed a trend of him doing smart-alecky sketches of non-Hellboy characters. Snarky little dialogue balloons etc.

It is - his attitude when I met him turned me off of his comics all together. He was so rude. I even had the Art of Hellboy huge HC for him to sign - which he did - and tried to strike up a conversation with him - but after the request for the sketch it was like he didn't want me around anymore...

I'd ask for a Man-Bat. Love the Mignola horror stuff.

Not in my sketchbook (mostly because I don't yet have a sketchbook). It may have been in Frank's.

I understand this is true of most artists working the con circuit these days. Right?

Closest I got was by Rafael Navarro

It's Sac-Con, the local Sacramento comic con that happens 4 times throughout the year. Next show is at the end of September. It's a mix of comics, anime, card games, and toys. It's a very small show and it get's an ok amount of people through. It's a mix of comic book collectors and kids who are into anime. May even be skewed towards anime these days. Works to my benefit as they get some good artists through, usually a couple per show, and you have more time to spend with them and get stuff done. Also I tend to find con sketches at this show tend to be slightly cheaper than they would be at someplace like Wondercon or SDCC. Only downside is that this show's been going on for years and I profess I'm a bit late to the comic art game. So I look back on all those artists that I've probably missed at the show and only cringe slightly.
