X3 Phoenix Rising Statue: Is it worth buying?

Thoughts on the statue? How big is it? How's the likeness? I read somewhere that it was done by Gentle Giant for DST. I'm thinking of picking one up but I haven seen actual pics yet. Any help here would be hot. Thanks!

Feel lucky you asked before you make the purchase...

My LCS got one on display and it's absolutely HORRIFYING...

That piece of crap doesn't even worth $20, so don't even talk about paying $175 retail for it....
The Phoenix looks mighty ugly with sunk in chicks and looks like she's stuck in a big chunk of jelly fish.
The pose of Scott is very unnatural and awkward. Like some member here pointed out, the pawn of Scott should be facing Phoenix, not himslef.

And it's an overall big piece but both human figures are in very bad quality...
DST has put out some really horrible movie stuff started with the Ghost Rider movie statues.

I highly suggest you not to buy that piece of junk...

I dont think it is bad at all. I think Rider is being over-critical. I'll probably take pics of it over the weekend.

I might be since this piece gave me a REAL bad impression when I saw it in LCS, made me kinda mad...

And yeah, take some pics please, and we'll see the real deal.

While some of language used by RiderV3 is harsh, I tend to agree with him. Also have seen this piece at my LCS and I was not impressed at all. Unless you loved X3, I wouldn't consider this statue.

Well lets put it this way for me personally. I may have passed on this because of the price vs quality if I had not ordered it from my LCS. It is decent in size and the bottom of the base is cool because it is clear, so you could display it over a light to give it a glowing effect. It is hard to do statues based on real people so they turned out okay.

What I was upset about was the gental giant X3 busts because most of them looked like bad and they did not show pics in Preview Magazine when you had to order them. At least with this one I had a pretty good idea of what it was going to look like.

Also I am a sucker for movie related collectibles so that has some weight on my opinon of the statue.
