Honestly this statue makes me feel so sad that I could cry... So much potential... After seeing and owning the Darkness... I know XM can do greater service to the Top Cow characters after CS Moore's near perfect take on them.
I hope XM is listening and will really reconsidering a better base, spear and portrait for the Magdalena.

Agree with others. This needs some work to get it back on track. But easily fixable:
* Paint job on the portraits should match first reveal
* Needs a third portrait without hair covering the face
* Hooded face needs reworking. Hair strands do not look natural
* Headstone/statue base should be the same color as the pillar underfoot or a much lighter color. Light green or white marble to offset the dark clothing of Magdalena.
I think body sculpt and paint job are good. Not much I would change there.

I know how you feel. This was at the top of my list. I own The Darkness too - great sculpt but there is a LOT I would change about the color scheme of that piece.

The headstone/statue and the pillar underfoot needs to be the same color scheme. It looks very disconnected from the main statue, even the tiling is different.

There was so much beauty in the head sculpt. Now it has been lost in my opinion.
I am very disappointed and don't know if I will keep my preorder.
Always these negative changes to the female head sculpts. I don't get it.

I just looked at the photos on FB...They wrecked this.
Bunny toothed portrait...WTH?
And again, exactly what I was afraid of, they went dark on the garden angel tombstone and she gets lost in the wash.
I was ready to drop a grand on this...boy do they struggle with the females. Thought they had it sorted.

I think a white marble or alabaster look would suit the headstone base much better. Looking at the portrait again, it's strange. The ones they posted besides the hair strands looked like a winner. This just doesn't look as good.

They really struggle with their pallet in this regard. Many of their pieces have too many details that 'blend in with each other'. I am not convinced they will change it, as they haven't really caught on to the problem 'at least what I perceive is a problem' yet.
While I would rather they didn't have the giant backdrop taking away from the main character, not having a solid white or marble for contrast is a huge miss.
